Command An Army Tier List

Launch rankings for closers, walls, and Castle cores — not a forever law.

Tier List Hub

This Command An Army tier list is a launch-week read, not a laboratory spreadsheet. The game went public on September 5, 2026. Players, TikTok comments, and creator clips already agree on a few things: Cavalry is generally the strongest troop, maps lean defense, and Castle wants Spartan + Shieldman + Spearman. We rank from those signals plus how the official loop is written (recruit, form, capture, attack or defend).

Exact hidden stats will move. LEBALANCE exists as a code because numbers already moved once. When they move again, this hub will point at the balance patch instead of pretending S tier is eternal.

How this list is ranked

  • Impact on winning a 12-player round, not drip fashion.
  • Defend value is weighted, because maps are defense-biased.
  • Formation value beats isolated duels. A troop that only works alone is ranked down.
  • Gem efficiency after you redeem codes. A strong unit you cannot field yet is a future pick, not a first buy.

Roles, not vibes:

  • Closer — Cavalry.
  • Wall — Shieldman and other shield infantry.
  • Anti-horse — Spearman.
  • Elite infantry — Spartan.
  • Disruptor — Scout Rider (answerable; see the counter clip on troops).
  • Identity summon — Samurai and other spin targets on summons.

What S tier does not mean

It does not mean buy only horses. An all-Cavalry first buy on a defense map is how you run into spears and then type in chat. S means “highest swing if used correctly.” Correctly is a reserve charge after the wall holds. Read how to win.

A-tier infantry is what you actually stand on the point with. If you can only afford one S and one A, take a wall plus Cavalry, then finish the circle.

Attack list versus defend list

There is not a fully separate numeric list yet because the roster is still launching. Directionally:

  • Defend: Shieldman and Spearman go up. Cavalry stays high as a counter.
  • Attack: Cavalry goes up further. Scout Rider can go up if you know the counter-play against it. Pure walls go down if you never leave the base.

Compositions is the page that turns those arrows into two packages.

How to use this with gems

  1. Redeem codes.
  2. Buy the missing A-tier wall piece.
  3. Buy Cavalry if the closer is missing.
  4. Finish Spartan for Castle.
  5. Only then spin for Samurai / extras.

That is the gem planner in sentence form. Tiers that you skip because of a pass (Skip Summon Spin) are still not “better.” They are faster to roll.

Patch warning

If a week-two patch nerfs horses or buffs spears, this snapshot is wrong in a useful way: spears were already the answer. We will not pretend a YouTuber’s first session is a forever meta. Check updates before you sell your wall.

For the unit-by-unit argument, continue to troops.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for codes, troops, and match setups.

Who is S tier in Command An Army?

Cavalry, as a closer, with the caveat that spears exist. Details on troop tiers.

Is this tier list for attack or defend?

Weighted toward defend because maps currently lean that way. Attack packages are on compositions.

Should I only buy S-tier troops?

No. You need a wall. Buy Shieldmen and Spearmen with the closer.

Will this list change?

Yes. LEBALANCE already signaled number tweaks. Watch the balance patch page.
